After the successful release of the HONOR X9b last month, HONOR Philippines officially announced the new HONOR X8b today. So join me in unboxing this phone and I will share with you my first impressions.
HONOR X8b is now official in the Philippines!
This HONOR X8b is an affordable smartphone that highlights the 108MP Ultra Clear main camera and the LED AI-assisted 50MP front camera.
It is also equipped with the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core chipset and paired with 8GB RAM plus 8GB RAM Turbo. You will also get a very large 512GB internal storage that is considered computer-level storage.
Currently, we don’t have details about its pricing and availability but it will be released later this month.
Unboxing and Accessories
The HONOR X8b comes with a white box that has the product image and model name. Inside the box, the first thing we will see is the HONOR X8b, then the carton containing the SIM ejector tool, documentation, and jelly case, under that carton is the USB-C cable and the 35W HONOR SuperCharge adapter.
Design and Build Quality
This phone comes with a remarkable design that makes it premium to hold, thanks to its Retro Luxury Back design. The available colorways of this phone are Midnight Black, Titanium Silver, and Glamorous Green.
Our review unit here is the Glamorous Green and it has a leather back that makes it look luxurious. Since it has a leather back, you don’t have to worry about fingerprints or smudges.
The HONOR X8b is also easier to hold since it has flat sides. Even though it only weighs 166g, it still appears durable due to its great build quality. By the way, its dimensions are 161.05mm x 74.55mm x 6.78 mm which is considered slim.
Honestly, I’m used to heavy phones so when I first held it, it felt different because this phone is truly slim and lightweight. Your hand will definitely not feel fatigued when you use it.
When it comes to input and output, we will see its dual SIM tray on the left side while the volume rocker and power button/fingerprint scanner are on the right side. At the bottom is the main microphone, USB-C port, and its single down-firing speaker, then it also has a secondary microphone that we can see at the top.
Moreover, it has a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 3240Hz PWM dimming, and up to 200nits max brightness. I love its display because it is really high quality and very sharp. It also boasts Magic Capsule technology that shows real-time app information.
I’ve been using this phone for a while now and I am seeing a lot of its strengths and weaknesses. I can’t wait to share with you the full specifications and our review that will be released soon, so stay tuned!
