The most recent member of the Dimensity 5G series keeps MediaTek’s tradition of leading innovation. The latest flagship from MediaTek will provide us with outstanding performance and unparalleled power efficiency. The new SoC offers users all over the world intense all-day gaming experiences, incredibly crisp image capture, and support for both mmWave 5G sub-6GHz connections.
“MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 combines ultimate performance with significant power savings, extending battery life and keeping smartphones cool,” said JC Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of MediaTek’s wireless communications business unit at MediaTek. “With notably brighter image capturing and improved gaming speeds, along with the latest display enhancements, the Dimensity 9200 will bring new possibilities for next-gen smartphones that come in a variety of stylish and foldable form factors.”
Features of the Dimensity 9200
The Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU with a hardware-based ray tracing engine is the first to be included in a smartphone processor, and the Arm Cortex-X3 with speeds over 3 GHz is also a first for the Dimensity 9200. Thanks to the chipset’s inclusion of MediaTek’s HyperEngine 6.0 Gaming Technology, which enables quick, fluid action, gamers may fully immerse themselves in every scene. The chipset’s MediaTek MiraVision 890 display technology helps to enhance content with support for high-end gaming screens, stunning quality, and expanded foldable designs.
When compared to the fifth-generation APU, the sixth-generation AI Processing Unit (APU 690) of the chipset performs up to 35% quicker on the ETHZ5.0 benchmark. The Dimensity 9200 leads the industry in power efficiency with its eXtreme Power Saving Technology, which offers up to 30% power savings with AI noise reduction and 45% power savings with AI super resolution jobs in all visual applications.

Thanks to MediaTek’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi coexistence technology, users may connect everywhere. This technology enables simultaneous, unimpeded connections between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth low energy (LE) music, and wireless peripherals like gamepads. The chipset’s dual antenna technology also dynamically alternates between high-performance and ultra-low power antennas based on the needs of the user at the moment.
The Dimensity 9200, which supports up to 6.5GB/s data rates, is the first smartphone platform that is Wi-Fi 7 ready. For quicker network scanning, 5G connection recovery from dead zones, and other intelligent connectivity improvements, the chipset includes a cutting-edge, built-in 5G modem with AI. It also provides seamless 5G experiences by simultaneously switching between long-rage sub 6GHz and lightning-fast mmWave connections.
You may not now own a Wi-Fi router, but you will someday, and MediaTek is getting a head start on things by incorporating forward-looking functionality into the Dimensity 9200. Not to fear, though; it is completely prepared to connect your Wi-Fi 6 network and may use 70% less power than the chip from last year to do so. Following the wasted chance with the 9000, the 9200 is prepared to handle both sub-6 and mmWave, and it appears that MediaTek’s mmWave support situation is also greatly improving.
Whether users are in low light, bright light, or everywhere in between, the Imagiq 890 image signal processor in the chipset offers fascinating capturing. Smartphones running on the Dimensity 9200 can avoid Bayer conversion thanks to the first native support for RGBW sensors, which can save up to 34% more power than competing technologies.
The quick, precise AI-NR photo capturing technology from MediaTek also enables users to produce better cinematic films and take advantage of superior AI motion blur technology. The Video Stream Engine combines the chipset’s APU and ISP for video capture, enabling hardware designers to incorporate distinctive AI-video innovations that are noticeably faster and more power-efficient.
By the end of the year 2022, consumers will be able to purchase smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9200. We may now enjoy and live life to the fullest thanks to MediaTek’s new and outstanding flagship chipset.
