MediaTek, the world’s top chip manufacturer for smart gadgets, just announced their latest MediaTek Helio G36 perfect for entry-level gaming smartphones. In a highly power-efficient 12nm processor, the MediaTek Helio G36 offers the advantages of 50MP cameras, quick 90Hz displays, and MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0, worldwide dual 4G connectivity with intelligent connectivity technologies, and more.
The MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite's Powerful Performance

The chipset has eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at 2.2 GHz, and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 (680 MHz) GPU. In order to improve performance during gaming, the Helio G36 also integrates MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite technology.
The MediaTek Helio G36 employs 12nm TSMC manufacturing technology and is based on the ARM v9 architecture. Eight 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores, an IMG PowerVR GE8320 (680 MHz) GPU, up to 8 GB (1600 MHz) LPDDR4x RAM, and eMMC 5.1 onboard storage are all included in the chipset’s octa-core processor. The Helio G36 offers a display with a full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz.
As the MediaTek Helio G36 features this HyperEngine 2.0 lite, improvements in connectivity will then result in quicker responses and more dependable connections, ensuring that you can always stay connected. The networking engine 2.0 offers intelligent Wi-Fi & LTE concurrency prediction, quicker response time between cell towers and smartphones, as well as the putting off of calls without the data connection slipping while playing.
Intelligent resource management 2.0 provided by MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology assures continued performance and extended gameplay as well. This feature enables 1.0 GiFT – HFR, and according to real-time assessments of power, thermal, and gameplay parameters, intelligent, dynamic control of the CPU, GPU, and memory is used. It will ensure improved performance even in action-heavy games and improved power efficiency for even longer playtime.
Fast Display and High-quality Camera
It can support displays with up to full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 90Hz refresh rates on entry-level gaming smartphones which allows for noticeably smoother page scrolling, shopping, social media updates, user interfaces, and app animations.
The MediaTek Helio G36 offers excellent portrait photography as well with high-quality Depth of Field (Bokeh) effects through the use of its excellent dual camera photography that support for up to 50MP cameras. Brands can decide on their own whether to include unique AI camera capabilities like AI beautifying and improved precision in single or dual-camera Bokeh recording.
Not only that, the quality chipset also includes Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and a Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engine that cleverly reduce distorted (‘jello effect’) video when you would like to record quick action or panning video clips. In the event that external lighting conditions unexpectedly change, Instant Auto Exposure (AE), which is powered by an integrated Camera Control Unit (CCU), can focus and adjust the exposure much more quickly.
In terms of connectivity, unfortunately, it does not feature a 5G connection. However, it still contains – for optimal power efficiency – the worldwide 4G LTE Cat-7 modem (2 CC-CA) which is fully integrated into the chip. Essential dual 4G SIM support is provided by the modem, enabling VoLTE/ViLTE services for both connections. The MediaTek TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology continually monitors signal strength to deliver the greatest connection while consuming the least amount of power. When using Wi-Fi and wireless devices like headphones and gamepads, integrated Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 offer simultaneous co-existence to increase throughput and connection dependability.
Since MediaTek is very well-known for its highly powered chipsets, we can only wait the upcoming gaming smartphones to be integrating the newest Helio G36 and see how much power it can give either in gaming, professional work, and more!
