Reels is now also available on Facebook!
To remember, they first introduced the Reels on Instagram last 2020. Since most people always watch videos, this became Meta’s fastest-growing content format. Now, they also launched it to Facebook globally on both iOS and Android platforms.
This feature not only provides a new watching experience but also introduces new ways for creators to make money. It will also help creators to engage more in their audience or community. Besides, Reels also makes people find and share relevant and entertaining contents fun and easy.
Meta mentioned its Reels Play bonus program, part of their $1 billion creator investment. It promised to pay up to $35,000 per month to eligible creators based on the views of their qualifying reels. According to them, they will expand the bonus program to more countries. Let’s hope that they will release it immediately here to the Philippines to help our local content creators grow more.
Moreover, they are also starting with two formats for ad revenue: banner ads and sticker ads. The banner ads will appear at the bottom of the Reel as a semi-transparent overlay. Meanwhile, the sticker ads are static image ads that the creator can place anywhere in their reel. These non-interruptive ads allow creators to receive a percentage of ad income. Further, Meta will also start testing out Stars on Facebook Reels soon, which is also a great way to support creators.
In addition, creators will also be able to access new features announced last year. One of those is the Remix, you can create a reel with an existing, publicly-shared reel on Facebook. When you make a Remix, you can use all or part of another creator’s reel in your reel. Next, you can also make reels up to 60 seconds long. Also, you will soon be able to save your reel as a draft. Meta also starting to suggest reels in your Feed from people you do not already follow.
You can find the Facebook Reels in Feed, Group, Watch, or in Stories. Lastly, you can also follow the creator directly upon viewing a reel.
