Microsoft just launched its new Surface Laptop SE designed for students and claimed as the most affordable Surface laptop.
A laptop that unlocks learning
Microsoft aims to help students achieve the skills they need using this laptop. They also want to provide benefits to schools and IT administrators that want simple deployment, modern administration, and security built-in.
This laptop comes with Windows 11 SE, an operating system developed for education that has access to built-in programs. It also provides online experiences to help them learn and develop important skills, and tools that meet them where they are. Besides, the laptop also comes with Microsoft 365 for Education.
For the hardware, it features an Intel Celeron N4020 or N4120 processor that can seamlessly run Windows 11 SE. This processor comes with an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 600 which is still decent nowadays. It also comes with up to 8GB DDR4 RAM and up to 128GB Embedded MultiMedia Card for storage.
Moreover, it also has a 16:9 aspect ratio 11.6-inch TFT LCD panel that has 1366 x 768 display resolution. This laptop has a 1MP front-facing camera with up to 720p 30fps video, 2W stereo speakers, and a single digital microphone.
According to Microsoft, this laptop can last up to 16 hours of typical device usage. However, they did not specify the ratings of its battery capacity as well as its power supply.
Also, it has an all-plastic body with a Glacier colorway. While its dimension is 283.70mm x 193.05mm x 17.85mm, and it only weighs 2.45lb. For its ports, it has one USB-C, one USB-A, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and of course, its charging port. In addition, this laptop also has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 LE so, expect better connectivity for online classes.
Price and availability
The price of the new Microsoft Surface Laptop SE starts at USD 249.99 (around PHP 12.5K). However, there are no other details yet about its availability and price of other configurations.
