Nokia announces its new XR20 smartphone that is 5G capable, has a rugged design, and with 4 years of updates.
The Nokia XR20 wears a 20:9 aspect ratio 6.67-inch FHD+ display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Its screen also has 550 nits peak brightness boost, wet hands and gloves compatibility, and a center punch hole. In addition, its punch hole carries an 8MP front camera sensor.
Speaking of the camera, it has a dual rear camera setup composed of a 48MP main shooter and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. Its camera features ZEISS Optics, ZEISS Portrait, ZEISS Cinematic Effects, SpeedWarp mode, Action Cam mode, and Night mode. Not only that, but also Cinema mode, HDR as well as Beautification, Panorama, and Watermark.
For its core, it boasts an 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G Octa-core processor that has Adreno 619 GPU. Nokia partnered this processor with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage.
Furthermore, it has a 4,630mAh non-removable battery that supports 18W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Besides, it features Qi wireless charging, Quick Charge 4.0, and AI battery-saving technology. Nokia also mentioned that the battery life of this phone can last up to 2 days.
The Nokia XR20 features a ruggedized casing that is MIL-STD810H-certified to survive 1.8-meter drops. Besides, with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, it seems like you don’t have to put any screen protector in this device.
Other features of this device are Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band WiFi, 4G, and 5G connectivity, NFC, and Google Assistant button.
Moreover, this phone is already running an Android 11 operating system. Additionally, Nokia claimed that this phone will have 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of monthly security updates.
Price and availability
The Nokia XR20 will go on sale starting August 24 with a price of USD 549.99 (around PHP 27.6K). However, we don’t know yet when it will be available in the Philippines.
