After releasing several smartphones and even a pair of headphones this year, Nothing has also introduced its latest wireless earphones, the Nothing Ear (3). This new model brings notable upgrades, including a feature designed specifically to improve call quality and voice memos.
We reviewed its predecessors, the Nothing Ear and the Nothing Ear (a), last year. This time, we are fortunate to try Nothing’s newest audio offering, and big thanks to Digital Walker for sending a unit.

Unboxing Experience
If you have seen our unboxing video, the overall experience is similar to the previous Nothing Ear models. Peel the pull tab, lift the lid, and inside you will find the Nothing Ear (3), a USB-C cable, extra eartips, and the user manual.

Design and Comfort
Design-wise, the Nothing Ear (3) stays true to the signature transparent-stem look. Personally, I still love its unique and modern design because it immediately stands out.
The charging case also receives an upgrade. While the shape is familiar, the aluminum body combined with a transparent lid gives it a more premium feel.
The earbuds are also very lightweight and comfortable. They stay in place securely as long as you are using the correct eartip size. The silicone eartips are gentle on the ears, although they tend to attract dust quite easily, so avoid placing them on dusty surfaces.

Sound Quality
The 12mm audio driver produces surprisingly premium sound for its price. The lows, mids, and highs have clear separation, which creates a pleasant and balanced soundstage.
I personally stuck with the Balanced preset, but you can adjust the tuning according to your preference in the Nothing X app. You can also browse equalizer profiles created by other Nothing Ear (3) users.
Nothing also added more sound personalization features, including Personal Sound Profile. This feature adjusts the sound based on how you hear tones. The ear test takes a few minutes, but it can make the listening experience more tailored.
The 42 dB adaptive noise cancellation also performs well and blocks out most background noise. I did notice some muffled distortion when sudden loud sounds occur. I hope this gets fixed through future software updates.
Transparency Mode is also effective. You can clearly hear your surroundings, especially when someone is talking near you.

The real standout feature is the Super Mic. This is something I have only seen on the Ear (3) and it genuinely impressed me. If you often take calls in noisy places, this feature is a big advantage. Nothing claims that it can isolate your voice and reduce other noise by up to 95 dB, and based on my experience, the voice clarity is noticeably better compared to the standard built-in microphones.

Battery Life
The battery life is another strong point. While I did not measure the exact usage, it consistently provided long listening sessions.
I used it almost every day during my commute this week. After several days of use, the case was left with only 15 percent while both earbuds still had a full 100 percent charge. This was with ANC set to High, bass enhancement at Level 3, and Personal Sound Profile enabled, which makes its endurance even more impressive.

Software
Similar to other Nothing products, the Ear (3) works with the Nothing X app. This is where you can control settings, customize sound, and manage features such as ANC, transparency, and Personal Sound.

The app is simple, clean, and very easy to navigate. Having a dedicated companion app is a huge benefit, especially for users who already own other Nothing devices.

You can also update the firmware through the app. Nothing is known for strong software support, and it is good to see this applied to their audio products as well. However, if your earphones are working perfectly, I usually recommend avoiding unnecessary updates because there is always a possibility that an update may introduce bugs.

Conclusion: Is the Nothing Ear (3) worth buying?
After using the Nothing Ear (3) for more than a month, I can say that it is definitely worth buying, especially if you do not own any previous Nothing Ear device. You get premium sound quality, practical and unique features, solid ANC performance, and a modern design that truly stands out.
The Super Mic feature alone adds real value if you take a lot of calls or attend virtual meetings. Even if you do not use it regularly, having this extra option is a big plus.
Overall, the Nothing Ear (3) is a refined and well-rounded upgrade that delivers both style and performance at a price that makes sense.
