OPPO Philippines has just announced the launch date of its latest OPPO Reno15 Series 5G, which they said is set to redefine travel storytelling in the Philippines. We are lucky to have the chance to try one of its models, the OPPO Reno15 F 5G, which we have already been using for weeks.

First look at the OPPO Reno15 F 5G
The new OPPO Reno15 F 5G has a classy look, thanks to its Dancing Aurora Texture design. It has a matte finish, so dirt or sweat does not stick to it easily. In terms of thickness, it is 0.4mm thicker than its predecessor since it has a larger battery capacity. While it weighs around 195g–202g, it still feels light and does not strain the hand even when held for a long time.
It also comes in three colorways: Afterglow Pink, Twilight Blue, and the hero color Aurora Blue. All of its colorways look good and elegant, but I would recommend Twilight Blue for men since it does not look too loud.

One of the things I really like about recent OPPO devices is the Splash Touch feature, since I have sweaty hands, and this phone also has that feature. Besides that, it also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection, so you do not have to worry if the phone gets wet while you are traveling.
For its cameras, it features a 50MP main shooter with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 50MP selfie shooter. Both the rear and front cameras support up to 4K@30fps video resolution, making it good for travel content.

It also comes with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1,400 nits of max brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass+ protection.
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno15 F 5G is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 octa-core chipset, which its predecessors already feature. While this chipset is still capable, it would be better to use a more powerful chipset, especially since it was already used in the Reno13 F 5G and Reno14 F 5G.

As for memory, this device comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot. In addition, it runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.
One noticeable upgrade of this phone is the larger battery capacity. The OPPO Reno15 F 5G now has a massive 7,000mAh battery and supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging. This move is good since people are becoming busier now and really need longer battery life and faster charging to stay connected.

Initial Thoughts
I do not expect too much from the new OPPO Reno15 F 5G in terms of hardware since it only has upgraded battery capacity, charging, and front camera. But on the software side, it offers a lot, such as Photo Popout, AI Portrait Glow, AI Recompose, and more.
It seems true that it can be a good companion for travel content, especially since its front camera is already good enough for creating content. But we will see if it is really worth buying after we test it further, so stay tuned for our full review.
