Recently, we unboxed the new OPPO A57 and gave our initial impressions. Now, we will
share with you our full experience using the device.
Display and Multimedia Experience
First, let’s talk about its display. Honestly, my favorite thing about this phone is the display. To recall, it has a 6.56-inch Colour-Rich display with HD+ resolution. Even though it only has HD+ resolution, it provides you a vibrant and super sharp graphics.
Aside from that, I do not encounter any struggles using it outdoor since its screen supports up to 600nits max brightness. The device also supports dark mode and eye comfort feature that really helps me to eliminate eye strain when I am reading Facebook posts at night.
I also
really love to use it for watching videos and browsing social media since it
has a punchier display. My watching experience with this phone is also leveled
up since it has dual stereo speakers. These speakers sound good and they are
very clear. You can also crank up the volume of its speaker up to 200% which is
very useful when the audio of the video you are watching is not loud.
Cameras
Next is its camera, which consists of a 13MP main shooter and 2MP bokeh lens, and an 8MP selfie shooter. Well, OPPO is really known for their great cameras so expect great captured moments with this device. I also enjoy taking some photos on this phone since it can provide decent-quality images. Just like its display, its camera can also produce vibrant images, thanks to its Dazzle Color mode.

Most of the
shots are also sharp, just make sure that you have good lighting. As for the
low-light images, I used its Night Mode to get better quality. Its HDR feature
is also good, it balances overexposed and underexposed areas in my outdoor
shots. Besides, its selfie camera is also decent and accurate. You can also use
its beautification feature if you want enhanced selfies.

For video recording, you can shoot at either 720p or 1080p at 30fps. You can also zoom up to 5 times when recording a video. It has no image stabilization but its quality is already enough for normal video recording. Just a tip, if your hands are shaky like me, you can Google Photos to stabilize your videos.
Performance
When it comes to performance, it decently runs all the apps that I used daily. The combination of MediaTek Helio G35, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage is perfect. Multi-tasking is also smooth in this device, especially since it has a RAM Expansion feature that supports up to 4GB of Virtual RAM.
Furthermore,
I also tried playing some popular online game titles on this phone such as
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact. I am only
confused about why the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is very laggy on this device
even though I already set it to low graphics, but I suspected the new update of
the game, hopefully, the developer will fix it.
Meanwhile, the OPPO A57 runs the Call of Duty Mobile smoothly and I only encounter fewer frame drops. Given that this phone is only entry-level, it also struggles running the Genshin Impact. FYI, that game is very heavy and requires high-end hardware to run smoothly.
Battery
For its battery life, I often use it for browsing social media, Shopee, and playing games, and its 5,000mAh battery capacity gives me one to two days of usage. However, I cannot provide any benchmark score of its battery since the PCMark app always crashes after nine hours of progress.
The
included 33W SUPERVOOC fast charger can fully charge the phone from 20-100%
around 70-80 minutes. It also has an “Optimised night charging” feature that
controls the charging speed at night and avoids overcharging.
Conclusion
With a great display, camera, design, and battery, the OPPO A57 is a great buy at PHP 8,999. This phone is already fine for doing light tasks. Its unique features also make it more worth buying than its competitors. In addition, you will enjoy using this device to binge-watching any K-dramas, anime, or movies since it gives an excellent multimedia experience.
