It’s been a few weeks since OPPO Philippines launched the latest OPPO Reno14 Series 5G that boasts AI photography and videography, and we got our hands on the OPPO Reno14 F 5G.

Design and Build Quality
The first time I saw this phone, I was really impressed with its design. I have the Opal Blue colorway, which I think is more perfect for girls since it has vibrant vibes and a feather-like effect at the back called the Iridescent Mermaid design.
It also has a glass-like back with a matte texture, so it’s not a smudge magnet. The only smudge-prone part is the camera island since it has a glossy finish. Other available colorways are Glossy Pink and Luminous Green.
Even though it has a slim body that looks a bit similar to the OPPO Reno13 5G, it still feels premium when you hold it. The OPPO Reno14 F 5G measures 7.7mm thick and weighs 180g.
The included clear hard case also looks nice, although I find it a bit bulky, but at least we can rest assured that the phone is protected.
You can also sleep soundly at night knowing that this device is safe from accidental splashes or submersion because it comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.

Display
The OPPO Reno14 F 5G features a large 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,400 nits of max brightness. Its display is protected by AGC Dragontrail DT-START D+.
When it comes to media consumption, the OPPO Reno14 F 5G delivers an engaging viewing experience thanks to its high-quality display. The vibrancy and sharpness breathe life into whatever you’re watching, giving you all the details and color accuracy you need. Gaming is also a joy, thanks to the buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
While outdoors, I found the 1,400 nits max brightness enough to see the display decently, but sometimes I still had to find shade to clearly see the screen.
The dual stereo speakers also deliver decent audio quality. The bass and treble are just right, so you’ll definitely enjoy blasting music or watching videos on this device.

Performance
The OPPO Reno14 F 5G is still powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, so there’s not much of an upgrade when it comes to performance.
Based on my experience, it’s okay for day-to-day use. I think its performance is more than enough for casual users who use their phones mainly for communication, entertainment, and light gaming. The games I tested that ran smoothly include Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Call of Duty Mobile.
We also ran benchmarks on this phone, although we couldn’t install PCMark. The AnTuTu Benchmark score was 667,704, which I’d say is already quite high.

Camera Performance
As one of its highlights, the OPPO Reno14 F 5G gave us good photos and videos, thanks to its 50MP main camera with 2-axis OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 32MP selfie camera.
For the rear camera, the photos came out sharp and the colors were accurate—overall pretty good detail. However, I wasn’t a fan of the front camera’s processing of selfies. It changes the skin tone and makes the face slightly darker even when the lighting is good. Still, I don’t think this will be a big deal for most users since the difference isn’t that drastic.
The camera is also supported by AI features such as AI Flash Photography, AI Live Photo 2.0, AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Style Transfer, and Advanced AI Editor to further enhance your shots.
Like its predecessor, this phone also supports Underwater Photography without needing an extra waterproof case. I didn’t get the chance to test it out, but other content creators have shown that the results look great when shooting underwater.
For video, I can say the quality is good since it can shoot up to 4K@30fps. With OIS, my clips weren’t too shaky. For me, the OPPO Reno14 F 5G is a solid option for capturing memories or even creating content if you’re a content creator—really hitting two birds with one stone.

Battery Life and Charging
One of the upgrades I liked on the OPPO Reno14 F 5G is its bigger 6,000mAh battery, which lasted me up to 2 days. Although, of course, the large battery does add to its weight, making it a bit heavy. I think OPPO should consider using lighter battery types like silicon-carbon batteries to balance things out.
Again, since we couldn’t install PCMark, we don’t have a battery benchmark score, but rest assured, this phone really lasts long with its 6,000mAh battery.
The downside is that OPPO didn’t upgrade the charging support; it still uses 45W SUPERVOOC charging like its predecessor. Expect a full charge to take around 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is quite long compared to other phones in this price range.
Verdict
I’ve been using the OPPO Reno14 F 5G for a while now, and I can say the experience was decent. Honestly, I like its camera capabilities—though not perfect, they’re still great for taking photos and videos, especially if you love creating content or always posting on social media.
This phone is also enough for students and professionals who need a device for productivity and entertainment. I can recommend this phone to you, especially if you’re specifically looking for an OPPO smartphone.
