During the developer video that was released today, Riot Games announced that they will be providing new cosmetic items for Mundo, Udyr, and Shyvana.
These three LoL (League of Legends) champions have waited years before receiving “a bit of love” from its publisher, as Andrei “Meddler” Van Roon said.
In a recent video, Riot Meddler, the head of League of Legends Studios, acknowledged that Riot is developing new skins for champions who have not received any cosmetic updates in a significant amount of time. Specifically, Meddler mentioned Shyvana, Udyr, and Mundo, who has been waiting for a new skin for five years. Although Shyvana was part of the Sentinels of Light event with her Ruined skin, Mundo has been waiting since he last wore the Frozen Prince outfit.
The Half-Dragon is slated to appear in Riot Forge’s upcoming game, The Mageseeker, and given her potential significance to the plot, it wouldn’t be unexpected to see another skin associated with a League of Legends story game. On the contrary, Mundo’s latest skin may be connected to one of the hinted thematics for this year, such as the cats vs. dogs skin line or one of the newly disclosed ones hinted at by Riot Meddler.
Another champion set to receive attention is the Spirit Walker, who underwent a significant rework less than a year ago. Similarly to Mundo, Udyr may also be involved in a new thematic, but details of their next cosmetics are currently unknown. The mystery surrounding their upcoming cosmetic updates will persist for the time being.
