realme just announced in India its new affordable realme C25Y that boasts a 50MP triple camera setup. It is quite similar to the previous C25 and C25s, except it has a Unisoc chipset, a better primary camera sensor, and a little smaller battery.
Affordable 50MP smartphone
realme C25Y has a 6.5-inches large display that has 1600 x 720p resolution and 420nits max brightness. Sadly, it does not support a high screen refresh rate. This phone still has a water-drop notch that carries an 8MP selfie camera. However, it mainly highlights a 50MP AI camera partnered with 2MP mono and 2MP macro lens.
In addition, it has many camera modes such as Super Night, HDR, Portrait, Beauty filter, timelapse, panoramic view, and Expert.
Moreover, this phone runs on a 12nm Unisoc T610 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This Unisoc chipset has 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 1.8GHz, 6 x Cortex-A55 1.8GHz, and ARM Mali-G52 GPU.
Yes, its chipset can only provide a decent performance compared to the gaming processors of C25 and C25s. But of course, even it is not as powerful as others, it can still run games such as Mobile Legends.
They also packed this phone with a large 5,000mAh massive battery capacity. You can also charge it with an 18W fast charger via Micro USB. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack and a dedicated SIM slot which also supports up to 256GB microSD card.
Further, the available colorways of this phone are Metal Grey and Glacier Blue which are perfect for its aesthetic design.
For its software, it already runs on realme UI R edition based on Android 11. While for network connectivity, it only supports 4G LTE mobile data and 2.4GHz for WiFi connection. This phone also features a fingerprint sensor placed at the back.
Lastly, the realme C25Y is the first in the C series to come with a 50MP camera. To recall, Xiaomi also released recently its new affordable redmi 10 that also features a 50MP camera setup. It looks like smartphone companies will now have a 50MP camera standard for their upcoming budget smartphones.
Price and availability
The price of this realme C25Y is only INR 11,999 (around PHP 8.1K). And It will be available for pre-order in India starting September 20.
