With Samsung’s launch of its latest foldables today, a new set of wearables is also being dropped. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and the Galaxy Watch9 focus on AI-powered health tracking and longer battery life.
Samsung not only focused on hardware upgrades but also on making smartwatches more proactive as health companions.
AI-Powered Health Tracking
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 are both powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and use Samsung’s Bioactive Sensor to monitor biometric data to turn it into personalized health insights.
Among the new features are Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing, while Sleep Apnea detection has also been upgraded with new AI algorithms. Altogether, these tools aim to help users better monitor sleep, activity, cardiovascular health, and recovery.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 for Outdoor Adventures
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, capable and built for users who enjoy outdoor sports and extreme activities.
The new Trail Run features provide elevation, terrain impact, climbing progress, and hydration guidance through Nutrition Alert. The watch also supports professional diving with IP69K, 10ATM, and EN13319 certifications, automatically tracking depth, dive time, and water temperature once submerged. Additional diving features developed with Mares are expected later this year.
The Ultra2 is powered by an 800mAh battery, a 35% increase over its predecessor, while remaining around 12% thinner because of its updated internal design. It also features Samsung’s brightest smartwatch display yet at 5,000 nits, housed in a rugged titanium casing.
Galaxy Watch9 for Everyday Use
For users looking for a daily smartwatch, Samsung offers the Galaxy Watch9 as its all-around wellness companion.
It features a lightweight aluminum body and softer interchangeable bands, maintaining Galaxy Watch’s signature cushion silhouette. The watch is also equipped with a 3,000-nit display for improved outdoor visibility and comes with 445mAh (44mm) and 390mAh (40mm) battery options.
Samsung Ecosystem
Beyond the watches themselves, Samsung also highlighted improvements to its ecosystem. Users can manage Samsung Care+ through the new Warranty & Care menu, while complimentary Strava (60 days) and iFIT (2 months) trials are included for eligible users.
Price and Availability
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 are now available for pre-order in the Philippines starting July 22, with general availability beginning August 14.
The Ultra2 comes in 47mm with Titanium Silver and Titanium Gray finishes, while the Watch9 is offered in 40mm and 44mm sizes with Graphite, Silver, and Cream color options.

Samsung also introduced new watch bands across the lineup, including Marine, PeakForm, and Trail bands for the Ultra2, while the Watch9 receives Sports, Misty, and Fabric bands.
