In its Samsung Unpacked event held in South Korea, Samsung launches new devices including the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. These devices are equipped with the latest flagship chipset, but it didn’t change that much compared to their predecessors.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5
Compared to the Z Flip4’s display, the new Flex Window is 3.78 times bigger since the Galaxy Z Flip4’s outer (cover) screen was only 1.9 inches, and the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5’s screen is larger at 3.4 inches.
The user may interact with widgets in the Flex window, such as the weather, music, stock information, and toggle settings (such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). They can even respond to incoming messages using a full QWERTY keyboard.
This Galaxy Z Flip5 features the latest 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor that delivers excellent performance. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB storage capacities.
Samsung enhanced the hinge design as well. The screen has less creasing thanks to the new integrated module’s dual rail flat or zero-gap hinge. The dual rail structure is another feature of the new Flex Hinge design that helps it absorb external impacts. Samsung claimed it can endure about 200,000 folds, which has been validated by Bureau Veritas.
In addition, The Galaxy Z Flip5 has a large 6.7″ FHD+ display with a 22:9 aspect ratio and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.
There have been no notable upgrades to the battery. This Galaxy Z Flip5 still has a 3,700mAh capacity and supports 25W cable charging and 15W wireless charging.
The camera setup is also the same as its predecessor. It still has a 12MP main shooter that supports OIS and dual-pixel autofocus and a 12MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view. While on the front, it still features a 10MP selfie shooter, but you can use the rear camera setup for selfies since it has a Flex display to view yourself.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
The Galaxy Z Fold series’ slimmest and lightest foldable with a long-lasting battery is the Galaxy Z Fold5. It only weighs 253 grams, which is 10 grams lighter than its predecessor while having a huge screen.
This Galaxy Z Fold5 now folds completely flat, owing to an updated hinge design, the Flex Hinge that we also see in the Z Flip5. You can position the phone at virtually any angle for hands-free picture capture or split screen applications thanks to the redesigned hinge, which enables a more flexible Flex mode.
You get a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a 2176 x 1812 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate on the inside, and a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a 2316 x 904 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate on the outside. The aspect ratio of the screens is still the same as the previous Z Fold4.
Multitasking has been enhanced in the Galaxy Z Fold5. Up to four recently used apps may now be stored in the taskbar for easy switching between them, and two-handed drag and drop makes it simpler to move material across apps and screens. To drop a picture into Notes, open Notes with one finger while holding the image in the Gallery with the other.
The new S Pen Fold Edition is smaller and slimmer than the previous model. It may be connected with the Slim S Pen Case, which is only slightly larger than a conventional case when combined with the pen and available in a range of colors.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 includes a 50MP main shooter with dual-pixel autofocus, and OIS, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP 3x telephoto lens with OIS. On the front, the cover display has a 10MP selfie shooter that supports dual-pixel autofocus, while the main display has a 4MP selfie shooter with dual-pixel autofocus.
Like the Z Flip5, this Galaxy Z Fold5 also features a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor. Besides, it comes with 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage capacity. It also sports a 4,400mAh battery capacity that supports a 25W wired fast charger and 15W wireless charging.
