Sharp has officially announced the Sharp AQUOS R11 in Japan and is scheduled to go on sale on July 9. Although Sharp has yet to reveal pricing for the unlocked SIM-free model, the company is bringing updated hardware and a Leica-supervised camera system to its flagship smartphone lineup.

Bright OLED Display With High-Resolution Selfie Camera

The AQUOS R11 features a 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. One of its standout features is a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits, allowing for quality visibility even outdoors and in bright environments.

The display uses a punch-hole design and has a 50.3MP front camera, making it one of the highest-resolution selfie cameras found on a flagship smartphone as of today.

Leica-Supervised Triple Camera System on Sharp AQUOS R11

Photography remains a major focus for the AQUOS R11.

The device comes with a Leica-supervised rear camera setup consisting of a 50.3MP main camera, a 50.3MP ultra-wide camera, and a 38.5MP telephoto lens. Sharp has also introduced new AI-powered camera features, including automatic zoom adjustments that help users frame subjects more effectively in different shooting situations.

While smartphone brands continue to integrate AI into imaging, Sharp’s implementation focuses on simplifying photography rather than adding complex editing tools.

    Specifications

Powering the AQUOS R11 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM (+12GB virtual RAM) and 512GB of internal storage. Keeping the device running is a 5,100mAh battery with support for 36W wired charging.

One of the more unusual additions to the AQUOS R11 is a built-in breathing light integrated into the rear camera module.

The light supports eight nature-inspired colors and can work alongside the phone’s white noise mode to create a more relaxing environment. Sharp says the feature is designed to help users unwind before sleeping or during moments of relaxation.

In addition, the AQUOS R11 also supports modern connectivity standards, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

On the other hand, durability is also a key part of the package. The device has MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability ratings and carries IPX5, IPX8, IPX9, and IP6X ratings for water and dust resistance as well. These certifications provide protection against impact, dust ingress, as well as various levels of water exposure.

    Availability

The new smartphone continues Sharp’s minimalist design approach inspired by the Miyake design concept. It measures 156 x 74 x 8.9mm, weighs 195 grams, and will be available in Navy Blue, Ivory Yellow, and Terracotta Red color options.

The Sharp AQUOS R11 will officially go on sale in Japan beginning July 9, 2026. Sharp has not yet announced the price of the unlocked version, and there is currently no word on international availability.
