Smart gears up as Official Partner of the UAAP Season 84
The UAAP resumes for Season 84 on March 26 after a two-year layoff due to the Covid-19 epidemic. With that, Smart is gearing up for the much-anticipated return of the country’s premier collegiate league by streaming it via the GigaPlay app.
The resumption of UAAP games is expected to reignite competitive rivalries amongst eight universities: Ateneo De Manila University, Adamson University, De La Salle University, National University, University of the East, University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, and the University of Santo Tomas.
Same as before, we may expect a lot of students supports their universities. Since UAAP Season 84 is under a bubble setup, students can only show support remotely. Smart expects to play an important role in bringing real-time UAAP events to subscribers and sports fans.

If we remember, COVID-19 restrictions forced the postponement of UAAP Season 82 in March 2020. However, since it is now new normal, the UAAP follows through with Smart GigaPlay, allowing fans to finally experience sports activity and cheer for their school using their phones.
