Tier One Entertainment, a dominant force in Filipino esports, has joined the Dota 2 scene by acquiring a spot from Singapore-based organization RSG in Division I of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Southeast Asian regional competition.
Tier One’s Blacklist Dota 2 team soon!
Last year, a few weeks after TI10, Tryke posted that one of his ambitions was to form a Blacklist Dota 2 and Valorant team. After a year, his organization is finally attempting to make his goal a reality.
Tryke Gutierrez, co-founder, and CEO of Tier One made the official announcement on his social media accounts that Tier One Entertainment has now taken up RSG’s spot in Division One of the next DPC season.
Tier One’s multi-gaming esports origination, Blacklist International, is most known for its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang division. Dota 2 will be the Blacklist’s first venture outside of the mobile esports scene, where it has a track record of success.
Given the quantity of available free agents in the SEA area following T1’s disbandment, Blacklist will have plenty of alternatives to bolster their squad before the season begins.
Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Abed “Abed” Yusop are currently free agents, so Tryke could think about taking a chance on two Filipino legends. Both players were former members of recently dissolved rosters. As Fnatic just parted goodbye to their carry, Marc “Raven” Fausto is also available. Even former TNC and Talon Esports player Kim “Gabbi” Santos may be on Tier One’s list.
Another option is for a Blacklist International Dota 2 squad to entirely replace RSG and use Kenny “Xepher” Deo and other former RSG players.
If Tier One wants to participate in the DPC next year, they have until December 11—the start of the Winter Tour open qualifiers—to assemble their Dota 2 lineup.
