Joining the new Galaxy Z lineup is Samsung’s latest flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip8, a device built around portability and self-expression.
Samsung highlighted how the Z Flip8 is designed for users who are constantly on the go, making everyday interactions quicker through its upgraded FlexWindow, camera features, and AI assistance.
Samsung’s Smartest Flip Yet
At just 180 grams and 6.1mm thin when unfolded, Samsung seems to be introducing the whole lineup as the slimmest lineup to date. The Z Flip8 has a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED main display and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover screen.
One of its biggest upgrades is the redesigned FlexWindow, which now does much more than just display notifications. Users can now access supported apps, Galaxy AI features like Gemini Intelligence, and perform everyday tasks directly from the cover display.
Samsung also introduced Now Brief, a feature that displays personalized reminders, updates, and recommendations based on a user’s daily routine.
What powers the Galaxy Z Flip8 is the Exynos2600 with 12GB RAM for variants of 256GB and 512GB storage.
Built for Selfies and Content Creation
As expected from Samsung’s Flip lineup, cameras remain one of the Galaxy Z Flip8’s highlights.
The phone features a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP front camera, all supported by Samsung’s ProVisual Engine.
Samsung also showcased several Flip-exclusive shooting features, including Flex Mode for hands-free photography, Camcorder Grip with a Zoom Rocker for more stable recording, and Super Steady with a new Horizontal Lock option for smoother videos while moving.
For selfie lovers, the FlipShot and Mirror View allow users to preview themselves directly on the FlexWindow before taking a photo.
Galaxy AI on the Z Flip8
Samsung also demonstrated how Galaxy AI is becoming more integrated into the Flip experience.
The new Now Nudge feature can recognize conversations and suggest relevant actions, while Gemini Intelligence and Gemini Notebook help users organize notes, recordings, files, and images for easier multitasking.
Samsung also showed how Galaxy AI works seamlessly across the ecosystem, connecting with the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch9 Series, and upcoming Samsung wearable devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is now available for pre-order through Samsung’s official online site and physical stores in Graphite, Cream, and Pink, with Mint offered as an online-exclusive color.

Additional Features
Beyond the hardware, Samsung also spent time discussing the improvements made to security, privacy, and the overall Galaxy ecosystem.
The new Galaxy Z series continues to be protected by Samsung Knox, with additional technologies such as Knox Vault and the Personal Data Engine (PDE) helping keep personal information secure while supporting on-device AI experiences.
Samsung also introduced an AI Assistant Activity page in One UI 9, allowing users to see what AI features have been doing in the background, along with new Privacy Alerts that warn users about potential privacy risks before they become a concern.
Samsung also updated Smart Switch to make moving to a Galaxy device much easier. During the presentation, the company demonstrated how users can now transfer data wirelessly using a QR code, including passwords, call history, accessibility settings, and even eSIM information. Quick Share has also been improved with better compatibility for transferring files between Galaxy and iPhone devices.
For after-sales support, Samsung continues to bundle its ecosystem with Samsung Care+, which offers protection against accidental damage, repair services, and warranty assistance. A new Warranty & Care section in One UI 9 also brings these services into one place, allowing users to check warranty information, run diagnostics, request repairs, and manage Samsung Care+ directly from the device.
