Previously, we reviewed the OPPO A58 and TECNO POVA 5 Pro. These two phones are relatively close in price and camera specs, so we will compare their image quality.
OPPO A58 vs TECNO POVA 5 Pro camera comparison
To recall, the OPPO A58 features a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter, a 2MP f/2.4 depth lens, and an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the TECNO POVA 5 Pro boasts a 50MP f/1.6 main shooter, 0.08MP depth sensor, and 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter.

Main Shooter
Normal Mode
The normal mode of the POVA 5 Pro and A58 are both good. But the POVA 5 Pro gave more detail than A58 although the color is a bit less vibrant here. Then in terms of brightness, the picture is equally bright although the shutter speed of the A58 seems to be slower here just to achieve this brightness so when you look at the pic the text is a bit blurry even though they are 50MP.
Night Mode
A camera that is great for low-light scenarios is now important in a phone. It’s a good thing both of these phones have decent low-light performance. However, the dynamic range that we got with POVA 5 Pro is better. As you can also notice, the lens flare is less in POVA 5 Pro. It also gives more detail than the OPPO A58.
Landscape
We also tried landscape photography and can see that the picture we got is equally good but they both have good and poor qualities. In POVA 5 Pro, the color is bright and vibrant but the other parts are bluish. Meanwhile, OPPO A58 lacks brightness and dynamic range but its color is more realistic.
Selfie Camera
Normal Mode
As you can see, the colors from the POVA 5 Pro’s selfie camera are more vibrant, and the A58’s pale. Although the image of the POVA 5 Pro is a bit saturated, it is still fine because the skin is not affected. Both photos are also sharp but I liked the POVA 5 Pro photo more. Besides the color, POVA 5 Pro provides great contrast.
Portrait Mode
In portrait mode, both offered great subject-to-background separation. The color of the camera of OPPO A58 is really quite pale. Then the contrast that we got on the OPPO A58 is still a little low so the image looks soft and pale. For sharpness, of course, the image of the POVA 5 Pro is sharper.
Overall, both the phones produce decent image quality. You are guaranteed to capture your special memories here on these two phones. But for me, the image quality that you can get here is better with the TECNO POVA 5 Pro although it’s actually a bit oversaturated sometimes. Actually, the camera of the OPPO A58 is also good and I think it is easier to edit since it is less contrasty and less vibrant. With that, it is easier to adjust colors.
