Huawei just launched the new MateBook D16 and MateBook 16s with 12th Gen Intel Core processors.
MateBook 16S
Beginning with the more high-end MateBook 16s, this laptop
features a touch screen 16-inch IPS panel with 2.5K resolution. This is also a
3:2 aspect ratio, 100% sRGB color gamut, and has 300nits max brightness. Its
screen also has TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification and TÜV Rheinland
Flicker Free Certification.
For the processor, it comes in three configurations: 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12500H, i7-12700H, and i9-12900H. However, the only available configuration here in the Philippines is the i7-12700H. The laptop only uses the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics which can still provide decent performance.
This device also has 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD for storage. Besides, it is also packed with 84WHr battery capacity with 90W SuperCharge support via USB Type-C port.
For great productivity, Huawei equips it with a full-size backlit keyboard and touchpad with built-in Huawei Share. While the available ports in this laptop are two USB-C, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports Super Device, so you can utilize cross-device collaboration.
In addition, it also supports WiFi 6 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, and a power button that also acts as a fingerprint scanner. It also arrived in Mystic Silver and Space Grey colorway.
MateBook D16
Next is the more affordable MateBook D16, a laptop that is
also great for productivity. The MateBook D16 also boasts a 16-inch IPS panel
but only comes with 1080p resolution. This screen is a 16:10 aspect ratio, and
also supports 100% sRGB and 300nits max brightness.
According to Huawei’s listing, the available processor configuration of this laptop in the Philippines is the Intel Core i5-12450H and i7-12700H. The i5-12450H only comes with Intel UHD graphics instead of Intel Iris Xe like in the i7-12700H. It is also paired with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD.
For ports, it has two USB-C, one USB 3.2 Gen 1, one USB 2.0, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 for connectivity.
Both of these laptops already arrived with a 1080p webcam which is an upgrade to the typical 720p webcam. They will also come with Windows 11 Home out of the box.
