Infinix Mobile started 2024 by releasing a new affordable smartphone below PHP 7,000 and that is the Infinix HOT 40 Pro. We’ll go over its specs and features, and I’ll let you know if it’s worth the money.
Unboxing and Accessories
The Infinix HOT 40 Pro comes with a box with a Free Fire design because it is a Free Fire Edition smartphone just like previous TECNO Mobile’s. And for me, the design of its box is cool and it will get your attention if you see it in the store.
Then inside the box, what is included here is the warranty card, SIM ejector tool, USB-C cable, 33W charging adapter, phone case with a cool design, and of course our phone itself.
Design and Build Quality
As for its design, I can say that the Infinix HOT 40 Pro looks premium because you can see what kind of phone it looks like. Its camera island is very iPhone vibes. Let’s appreciate the design of its camera island because it is elegant and has a metallic border.
I was also impressed with its back design because it has a Starry Trail design and is not a smudge magnet because its texture is a bit rough. This phone is available in Startlit Black, Palm Blue, Starfall Green, and Horizon Gold colorways.
Since its side has a glossy finish, it’s better to use the included case if you have sweaty hands like me. Speaking of the side, we can see on its left side its Dedicated SIM tray, on the right side its volume buttons as well as its power button/fingerprint scanner.
The fingerprint scanner is responsive, even though my hands are a little sweaty. At the bottom, we can see the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, USB-C port, and main speaker, while its secondary speaker is at the top.
Performance
Under the hood, the Infinix HOT 40 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core CPU with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It supports up to 8GB of expanded RAM, but it’s a gimmick because it doesn’t significantly enhance performance, so keep it disabled.
It actually got a 428,830 AnTuTu benchmark score and that’s high for a below 7K phone. I haven’t encountered any problems with its performance, especially in online gaming since the Helio G99 is a capable chipset.
By the way, the games we tried on this phone are Mobile Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact. The max settings supported in Mobile Legends are Ultra Graphics and Super High Frame Rate. In Call of Duty: Mobile, only up to Medium Graphics and High Frame Rate. Then the default settings in Genshin Impact are only the lowest possible settings.
So far, our gaming experience here is good. I think its XBOOST Gaming Engine also helps so it’s really stable when you play. It struggled a bit in Genshin Impact since that game needs a powerful chipset to run smoothly, but if you’re fine with the lowest graphics settings, it’s playable on HOT 40 Pro.
Display and Multimedia
Now, moving on to its display, Infinix HOT 40 Pro has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display that supports FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Its screen is also very responsive especially when you play games because it supports up to 1,200hz touch sampling rate.
Moreover, the display of the HOT 40 Pro is also clear when you are outdoors because its max brightness is up to 500nits. Although for me 500nits is not very bright but still viewable so it’s okay. Because it also has an IPS panel, the viewing angle is not that good.
Since it has a big display, it’s very nice to watch here on this phone, especially since it has dual stereo speakers that also have good sound quality. Besides, the color it produces is also good, plus the display is also sharp, so you may enjoy an immersive viewing experience.

Camera
Next is its camera, it has a 108MP main camera alongside the 2MP macro lens and its auxiliary lens, while on the front, it has a 32MP selfie shooter. I’m not sure why the auxiliary lens became trendy, I seem to see it often in recent phone releases, but it would have been better if it was just a wide lens or a 2MP depth sensor if they wanted to cut cost.
The quality of the photos and videos we get here on this phone is also decent, although its color is a bit pale for me. But all our photos are sharp and good even in low-light scenarios. But if it’s dark, this phone will have a bit of trouble.

This Infinix HOT 40 Pro is also good for video because it can already shoot up to 2K@30fps and 1080p@60fps video, both rear and front cameras. You can also turn on the bokeh mode in the video so that if you want a blurry background, the resolution is only 720p@30fps.

Battery
For the battery, it has a 5,000mAh battery capacity that supports 33W fast charging. Its battery lasts a day although we were not able to do the PCMark benchmark because I cannot install that app on our device. But don’t worry, it takes all day before I charge it again. As for charging time, it takes only an hour or less to fully charge this phone.
Conclusion
The Infinix HOT 40 Pro can be considered a best buy because it has good specifications at a cheap price. Even though it still has Helio G99 even though it’s already 2024, it’s still fine because this chipset still provides good performance. Besides, it has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, so you can use it for the long term. I can recommend it to all types of users whose budget is only around PHP 7K such as students, parents, as well as delivery riders, and others.
