Apple’s event just concluded, and the company launched the new iPhone 18 Pro Series, highlighting powerful and stable performance, improved camera quality and controls, and new AI features.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are equipped with the new Apple A20 Pro chipset. It is built on a 2-nanometer process, featuring a 6-core CPU with a 20% performance improvement and a 7-core GPU with 40% faster graphics performance.
Meanwhile, its Neural Engine now has 32 cores. The chipset also features 50% more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro.
The latest iPhones run iOS 27 out of the box, featuring enhanced Apple Intelligence with Siri AI.
Apple also highlighted its next-generation thermal vapor chamber, which is larger than the one on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It promises 40% better sustained performance compared to its predecessor.
The iPhone 18 Pro offers up to 36 hours of battery life, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 45 hours.
Wired charging has also been upgraded, although we do not have the exact numbers yet.
The iPhone 18 Pro’s 48MP main camera now has a variable aperture, providing improvements in performance, especially in low-light scenarios.
After capturing photos, users can now edit their cinematic effects. Apple also introduced the Pro Control feature, which allows users to manually adjust settings similar to the Pro Mode found on Android phones. It is available for both photo and video.
Users can also prove the authenticity of a photo taken on iPhone 18 Pro models with Apple Reference Image. It is powered by the new sensor in the Main camera, which can sign every pixel it sees.
Apple improved the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro Series, making it smaller while showing more information.
The new iPhones also arrive in a new Burgundy colorway. Other colorways include Black, Silver, and Glacier.
Thoughts
With the latest chipset and iOS 27, the iPhone 18 Pro Series delivers incredible performance and productivity. While it received a price increase, there are still many improvements, making it a good option if you are coming from an older iPhone.
I personally do not like the new Burgundy colorway that much because of its darker contrast, but you can choose the Silver, Glacier, or Black colorways depending on your preference.
