MediaTek announces its new Filogic 830 and Filogic 630 Wi-Fi 6/6E Chips for a better WiFi connection experience.
To provide stable connectivity and high computing capabilities, MediaTek designed this high-performing Filogic series of Wi-Fi chipsets. These have a wide range of features in highly integrated, powerful designs.
Filogic 830
First is the Filogic 830 which is an ultra-low 12nm SoC that integrates four Arm Cortex-A53 processors. Each core operates at up to 2GHz for up to +18,000 DMIPs processing power. While it packs a dual 4×4 Wi-Fi 6/FE for up to 6Gbps, two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, and a host of peripheral interfaces. This chip enables customers to create effective solutions for routers, access points, and mesh networks.
Moreover, it also has built-in hardware acceleration engines for Wi-Fi offloading and networking allow for faster and more reliable connections. It also supports MediaTek FastPath technology, which is useful for low-latency applications like gaming, AR, and VR.
Filogic 630
While the Filogic 630 is a Wi-Fi 6/6E NIC that offers dual-band, dual-concurrent 2×2 2.4GHz and 3×3 5GHz or 6GHz for up to 3Gbps. The chipset provides a unique 3T3R 5/6GHz system with integrated front-end modules (FEMs). That offers a comparable or greater range than rival 2T2R systems with external FEMs. This fully integrated design reduces bill of materials (BOM) costs while allowing for sleeker designs due to its tiny RF frontend area.
Furthermore, the third antenna on Filogic’s 630 provides improved transmit beamforming performance as well as diversity gains. It can also provide tri-band connectivity solutions for broadband gateways since it has PCIe where it can combine Filogic 830. Besides, it can also provide enterprise access points and retail routers with even faster speeds and bandwidth capacity.
These new MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 6/6E products can be used in:
- Home, business or enterprise router and repeater devices
- Service provider broadband equipment or retail devices
- Wi-Fi Alliance EasyMeshTM certified
- Home automation bridges and IoT
- Consumer devices and applications such as laptops, TVs, IP cameras, wireless storage, audio and more.
