NVIDIA has announced three new GPUs: the GeForce RTX 2050, the GeForce MX550, and the GeForce MX570.
NVIDIA announced these new GPUs three weeks after the GeForce
RTX 3050. The first will be the GeForce RTX 2050, which will be a late addition
to the RTX 20-series. They mentioned that it will contain 2048 CUDA cores,
which is more than the RTX 2060 that has 1920 CUDA cores.
This will also feature a boost frequency of up to 147MHz and a rated total graphic power (TGP) of 45W. The GPU will also come with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM and a memory bandwidth of up to 112GB/s.
RTX 2050 will also have RT and Tensor cores, as well as ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS, Reflex, Broadcast, and more. Besides, it will use NVIDIA Optimus technology for power-efficient performance.
Furthermore, NVIDIA also added the new MX550, an upgrade to the existing MX450. They claimed that it will have improved performance in other aspects such as clock speeds, memory bandwidth, etc.
NVIDIA also mentioned that it provides an increase in “performance and efficiency for photo and video-editing tasks, like using Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro, and better gaming than integrated graphics.”
They also announced the fastest graphics processor in the MX series, the MX570. This GPU will have the fastest and most power-efficient CUDA cores, as well as the fastest memory speeds. We can expect this GPU to deliver smooth gaming, photo editing, and video editing performance.
The RTX 2050 will be available on entry-level gaming laptops, while the MX550 and MX570 will be found on mainstream laptops. The three new GPUs will be officially announced this January, either at or after CES 2022. With that, we can expect NVIDIA to provide additional information about the new GPUs, such as pricing and availability.
We may expect new laptops that feature these GPUs in Spring 2022.
