OPPO just unveiled its new addition to the A series lineup, the OPPO A6 Pro. This lineup comes in two models: a 4G and a 5G variant. We’re fortunate because OPPO sent us the 4G variant to test out.
In case you missed it, we already uploaded our unboxing video last October 20. Check it out later to see its unboxing experience. For now, here are our first impressions of this device.

First Look at the OPPO A6 Pro
I really liked the design of the OPPO A6 Pro the moment I unboxed it. For me, what makes it look even more premium is its slim body. In fairness, even though it has a large battery capacity, it’s not that heavy to hold, which means you won’t easily get tired using it.
It has an aluminum chassis, and you can really feel its durability. It also has IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, meaning it can survive accidental water splashes and even submersion.
It has a frosted plastic back panel. This phone is available in Stellar Blue, Coral Pink, Rosewood Red, and Lunar Titanium colorways.

Another thing I liked about its design is the camera bump, since it’s quite low, which prevents the phone from wobbling when placed on a flat surface.
Speaking of the camera bump, the OPPO A6 Pro houses a 50MP main shooter, a 2MP portrait lens, and an LED flash. There’s also a camera-like spot above the LED flash, but it’s just for design, so don’t be confused. Meanwhile, at the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera.

This device features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,400 nits of maximum brightness. For me, its screen size is just right, especially if you’re not a fan of large phones. I also noticed that it has slim bezels, which make it feel like a premium smartphone.
Under the hood, the OPPO A6 Pro is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Helio G100 octa-core processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This is a 4G chipset that is often seen in budget midrange smartphones, but we’ll see in our full review how it performs in this device, especially since the A6 Pro runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.

One of the noticeable upgrades in this device is its battery. This phone now comes with a massive 7,000mAh battery capacity. Imagine how long that will last! Not only that, but it also now supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging. I think OPPO heard our sentiments about its predecessor, which only supported 45W SUPERVOOC charging.

Initial Thoughts
Since we have tried its predecessor, I’m surprised by the number of upgrades OPPO put into this device. I’m just hoping they will price it reasonably to help it compete with other devices in this price category. Based on its specs and features, the OPPO A6 Pro will surely offer a decent experience. We are currently testing this device and will publish our insights in our full review article, so stay tuned!
