For aspiring content creators or anyone who enjoys shooting photos and videos, you might be looking for a reliable device to capture everyday moments. The new OPPO Reno15 F 5G could easily be an option.
To recap, the OPPO Reno15 F 5G features a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 50MP front camera.
The Reno15 F 5G sports a 6.57-inch AMOLED display and is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It also packs a large 7,000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging support.

Is it a good camera companion?
The OPPO Reno15 F 5G arrives with an upgraded selfie camera that delivers noticeably better image quality than its predecessor. Based on our tests, selfies show good color reproduction and solid detail, especially in well-lit conditions.

There are moments when the face appears slightly smoothened, likely due to image processing, but the results are still social media ready.
Portrait mode produces clean background blur with well-defined edges and minimal overlapping issues. For video, the front camera can record up to 4K at 30fps, making it suitable for vlogs and short-form content.
While it features image stabilization and an Ultra Steady mode, there is still a subtle shake, so steady hands are recommended. The 0.6x selfie video option is a welcome addition, offering a wider field of view that works well for group shots or dynamic content.

On the rear, the camera setup delivers results similar to its predecessor since the hardware remains unchanged. The 50MP main camera still produces decent photos with good sharpness, vibrant colors, and respectable dynamic range.
However, skin tones can occasionally appear slightly inaccurate, possibly due to inconsistent lighting conditions.
The ultra-wide camera still needs improvement. Even in proper lighting, detail levels are not as strong as we would like, though this may be addressed through future software updates.
When recording videos using the rear camera, we experienced occasional lag. It is unclear whether this is caused by background apps or a minor software bug, but we hope OPPO can optimize this in future updates.
New AI Editor features
The built-in Gallery app introduces new AI-powered editing tools such as AI Portrait Glow and Photo Popout.

AI Portrait Glow stands out as a game-changing feature. It creates a simulated flash effect that brightens the subject’s face, making the photo appear as if it was taken with an actual flash. The effect looks surprisingly natural and can significantly enhance selfies, especially for social media posts.

Photo Popout is also a fun addition, allowing users to create creative collage-style images. There is also an AI Motion Popout feature, but it was not available on our unit. It may be exclusive to the Reno15 5G and Reno15 Pro 5G variants.
Verdict
The OPPO Reno15 F 5G proves to be a capable camera companion, especially for social media creators and travel enthusiasts. While it is not perfect, it delivers solid image quality, with the selfie camera standing out for sharpness, color, and detail.
Its features and performance make it a reliable option for capturing everyday moments or content on the go. If you’re considering this device, I can confidently recommend it. Stay tuned for our full review, which will give you a deeper look at whether it’s truly worth buying.
