Samsung has officially expanded its A-series lineup with the introduction of the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G, both offering a compelling mix of features in the mid-range segment.

We had the chance to experience these smartphones firsthand during a media preview, and our initial impressions suggest they bring solid hardware and software improvements at a competitive price point.
On paper, the specifications look promising, but real-world performance and everyday usage will ultimately determine their value. Hopefully, we’ll get to review these devices in depth soon.

Display & Design
Both devices sport a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals and vibrant colors. The screens also boast a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and integrate Samsung’s Vision Booster technology for enhanced outdoor visibility.

In terms of build, Samsung maintains a premium feel similar to previous models. The flat-sided design might be a matter of preference—some users may find it appealing, while others might prefer curved edges. Interestingly, Samsung has applied a similar design approach to the Galaxy S25 series, making the A-series feel more in line with its flagship counterparts.
Both models come with an IP67 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water. Additionally, they run on One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. A significant highlight is Samsung’s commitment to six generations of OS updates and six years of security patches, reinforcing the company’s “Built to Last” philosophy.

The Galaxy A56 5G is available in Awesome Light Gray, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Pink, while the Galaxy A36 5G comes in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Black, and Awesome White.
Key Differences Between the Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G
At first glance, both smartphones share several similarities, but there are a few notable differences worth highlighting. The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by Samsung’s 4nm Exynos 1580 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 5G runs on Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Both models come with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, ensuring ample space for apps, photos, and videos.

For the camera setup, both phones feature a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 12MP front-facing camera. However, the ultra-wide lens differs, as the Galaxy A56 5G is equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, whereas the Galaxy A36 5G has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
Battery & Charging
One of the most notable upgrades in this series is faster charging. Both smartphones house a 5,000mAh battery and now support 45W fast charging, a significant leap from the 25W charging speed of their predecessors. This means less downtime and more time using your device.
