As the use of artificial intelligence and edge computing quickly grows, bringing power and efficiency to many industries and activities, we are witnessing enormous change. Smarter, more integrated technology has transformed our daily lives, and we are witnessing massive change.
Although there have been many other innovations, Lenovo predicts that in 2023 these will be the ones that stand out and draw attention:
‘Holographic’ technology will deliver to remote workers the best of two worlds.
Technology will improve in our new hybrid workplace to enable meetings with ‘holographic’ participants that seem almost as real as those in attendance in person.
The future’s hybrid, remote, and increasingly global workplaces will put a greater focus on technologies that can connect teams, even if they are located across several countries.
With life-size “holograms” that can interact with virtual objects, augmented and mixed reality will provide companies a new opportunity to stand out during presentations.
Moreover, with the use of a special coated glass that is semi-transparent and semi-reflective, Lenovo’s concept Cyber Space technology illustrates how this “phygital” (physical and digital) approach can function. This glass allows those behind it to directly interact with life-sized items.
Shops will get smarter.
AI servers may scan several video feeds from cameras in shop aisles in the near future to detect huge numbers of items being removed at the same time, as well as monitor deliveries to the store to ensure that inventory remains high.
Stores will be able to manage inventory more effectively, respond to changes in supply and demand more quickly, increase profit margins, and guarantee that consumers receive what they paid for.
Hybrid work will enable new technologies
According to a Lenovo poll of 500 CTOs, this transition has already begun, with 43% of respondents claiming their company’s technological infrastructure has been improved. Businesses will switch to a more flexible operating model where a third party will deliver the full range of office services and solutions.
Lenovo now offers a managed employee experience via which companies may rent a whole workplace solution, as opposed to simple hardware or software, including IT infrastructure and support, performance analytics, and cloud and data infrastructure services.
Although these technologies are expected to change the way we live, work, play, and learn, human connection and cooperation remain at the core of progress. Lenovo is dedicated to helping this shift with its solutions, which enable smarter work and better results.
