In case you missed it, DITO Telecommunity already launched the new DITO Home 5G promos which offers data-capped and unlimited 5G data prepaid and postpaid plans. But how is the modem that comes with it? This is all that we need to know:
What modem does DITO HOME 5G use?
Now, it turns out that they are giving UniLink 200, which they replaced with the ZLT X21 5G modem they were offering before. The supported frequency band of this modem are N1, N77, and N78. You may enjoy faster speed in this modem since it is already Wi-Fi 6. At the back modem, we will its power port, RJ11, RJ45, nano SIM slot, and USB Type-C port. However, you cannot boost its speed with an external antenna since it doesn’t have an antenna port.
Does DITO HOME WIFI support a non-5G connection?
Unfortunately, it only supports a 5G connection and does not support 4G, which means you cannot use it in non-5G coverage areas.
Is DITO HOME 5G MODEM prepaid or postpaid?
The new DITO Home 5G Modem is available both prepaid and postpaid. You will get the modem for free when you apply for the postpaid plan, while you need to buy it if you want to avail the prepaid.
How to Apply for DITO Home 5G postpaid plan?
To apply, you may go to the nearest DITO store in your area, or you may apply online via DITO’s official website. When applying for the DITO Home 5G postpaid plan, there’s DITO’s staff that will go in your place to test if the speed is fast. Don’t worry, it won’t take long because it is SIM-based, just plug and play.
Is DITO HOME 5G MODEM sim transferable?
One of our members also tries to insert the postpaid SIM in a mobile hotspot as well as in a smartphone but it did not work. It seems that it is only linked to the IMEI of the modem, you cannot use it on another device.
Is DITO HOME 5G MODEM available to all?
As of the moment, it is available in NCR and Cebu. If you are outside of the said location, you cannot avail the DITO Home 5G. In case you are from there, you can apply by simply going to the nearest DITO Store.
How much is the monthly plan for DITO HOME 5G?
The DITOHome unlimited 5G postpaid plan will cost you PHP 1,490 per month. Again, you can get the 5G modem for free when you apply to this postpaid plan. While if prepaid, you need to avail of the DITO Home 5G Starter KIT worth PHP 12,990. This kit includes 1 DITO Home 5G Modem, 1 DITO Home 5G SIM, 50GB of open access data, and a 30-day Prime Video subscription.
Is DITO HOME 5G UNLI real unlimited?
However, both of our two group members encountered speed throttling from 500Mbps+ to 5Mbps after consuming 500GB of data. According to them, there is no Fair Use Policy (FUP) indicated in their contract. They also asked the store and confirmed there’s no FUP. Let’s hope they will resolve it so that their subscribers can enjoy 5G.
