ZTE has once again earned an “A” rating for climate change from CDP, placing it among the top 4% of companies globally recognized for climate transparency and emissions management.
This is the third year in a row that ZTE has secured CDP’s top score, and it remains the only mainland Chinese company to achieve this distinction three consecutive years in recent times.
CDP is one of the most widely used international disclosure platforms for environmental data. In 2025, more than 22,100 companies worldwide submitted climate, water, and forestry data to CDP, representing over half of global market capitalization.
Companies that receive an “A” are considered leaders in setting science-based targets, managing climate risks, and reporting progress.
ZTE continues to push its sustainability strategy through four pillars: Green Operations, Green Supply Chain, Green Digital Infrastructure, and Green Empowerment.

Green Operations
Under Green Operations, the company reported 45 million kWh of electricity savings and a 13.4% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions versus the previous year. Telecom products posted an 8.39% cut in emissions intensity during use and maintenance, while terminal products saw a 5.02% reduction in absolute lifecycle emissions. Total Scope 1–3 emissions declined by 14.317 million tons compared to 2023.

Green Supply Chain
For Green Supply Chain, ZTE has integrated low-carbon requirements into supplier management systems, covering contract agreements, audits, and performance reviews. To date, more than 450 production suppliers have undergone CSR on-site audits, 152 suppliers have completed organizational carbon inventories, and 51 have set carbon reduction targets and action plans.

Green Digital Infrastructure
Under Green Digital Infrastructure, ZTE currently holds more than 800 green patents and has completed carbon footprint assessments for 240 products across all categories. The company says its solutions have helped telecom operators save over 10 billion kWh of electricity per year.

Green Empowerment
For Green Empowerment, ZTE has been working with more than 2,000 industry partners to roll out 5G-enabled digital transformation projects across 18 verticals, including steel, electronics manufacturing, transport, mining, and energy. These initiatives aim to enhance operational efficiency while lowering emissions, with more than 100 real-world application scenarios now deployed.
ZTE’s climate roadmap has also undergone external verification. The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated both its near-term 1.5°C target and long-term net-zero goal. The company also received a Gold Medal rating from EcoVadis, placing it among the top 4% of companies assessed globally.
ZTE is a member of the UN Global Compact, the Global eSustainability Initiative, and the COP29 Green Digital Initiative, and says it intends to continue expanding its digital and low-carbon collaborations with industry stakeholders.
