Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, bringing its “Ultra” branding to the foldable lineup for the first time ever.
Samsung’s Most Premium Foldable Yet?
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra aims to deliver Samsung’s most premium foldable experience yet, combining a larger display, flagship-level cameras, and all-day performance in what the company says is its slimmest Galaxy Z Fold Ultra so far.
Just like the Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung managed to keep the Fold8 Ultra slim despite its more powerful hardware. With an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED main screen and a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED cover screen display, it measures just 4.1mm when unfolded and weighs only 215 grams, making it surprisingly lightweight for a device of its size.

Camera Built for Content Creators
With content creators in mind, Samsung equipped the Fold8 Ultra with an upgraded camera system.
Leading the setup is a 200MP main camera with enhanced HDR support in 200MP mode for more detailed and realistic-looking images. It is paired with a new 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera, designed to capture clearer landscape, group, macro, and wide-angle shots. It has a 10MP front and cover camera.
In addition, there are also improvements to the Nightography feature in terms of brightness and clarity in low-light scenes for both photos and videos.
For video creators, the Fold8 Ultra now supports 8K video recording using the new APV codec and Cine LUT. This allows users to apply cinematic color grading directly from the phone while providing more flexibility during editing.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Performance
What powers the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, Android 17, and One UI 9 found on the Galaxy Z Fold8.
To support demanding workloads such as multitasking and content creation, Samsung paired this chipset with a larger 5,000mAh battery and a new 45W dual-path charging design.
Samsung also redesigned the cooling system by expanding the graphite cooling structure, helping remove heat more effectively and maintain consistent performance during heavier workloads.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is now available for pre-order through Samsung’s official online store starting today, July 22, 2026. The Z Fold8 Ultra is available in the following variants and in the colors Graphite, Cream, and Violet Shadow. There is also an online-exclusive color, Green Shadow.

Other Features Worth Mentioning
Beyond the foldable hardware itself, Samsung also introduced several software and ecosystem improvements that will be available across the new Galaxy Z series.
On the security side, the company continues to rely on Samsung Knox, while adding features like the Personal Data Engine (PDE), Knox Vault, and a new AI Assistant Activity page that lets users see how AI features are using their data. One UI 9 also includes proactive Privacy Alerts that notify users of potential security or privacy concerns.
Samsung also made switching to Galaxy devices easier through an updated Smart Switch. Users can now transfer data wirelessly using a QR code, including passwords, call history, accessibility settings, and even eSIM information. Quick Share has also been improved with better AirDrop compatibility for easier file sharing between Galaxy and iPhone devices.
To round things out, Samsung continues to offer Samsung Care+ for accidental damage protection and repair services. One UI 9 now includes a dedicated Warranty and Care section, making it easier to manage coverage, request repairs, run diagnostics, and access support directly from the device.
