Currently, we still facing this Covid-19 pandemic, which means the way of education is still limited to online education. Time and again of using such online educational tools demands more useful and helpful features. Now, Google reveals upcoming updates for its online education tools, promising more than 50 new features. They rebranded its G Suite to Google Workspace for Education.
Google mentioned that more than 170 million students and educators around the globe rely on their products. That is why they rebranded its G Suite for education, to help students and teachers in online schooling.
Google Workspace for Education includes Google products such as Classroom, Meet, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Chat, and more.

One of the new useful features is the official mode of Google Classroom. This will allow students to begin their work offline and to review and access their assignments in Google Drive. It also allows them to write their assignments in Google Docs – without needing an active internet connection. They also improve mobile grading, sync class info, add-ons, and student engagement tracking in Google Classroom.

Moreover, Google Meet now has “end meeting” and “mute all” features to give teachers more control during classes. It also now has a new screen recording tool and it now allows multiple moderators in calls. Moderation controls such as screen sharing, chat access, and permitting students to enter the session will be also available on mobile devices.
However, Google Workspace for Education still has a free version. While the paid versions will have enhanced security and learning tools. Additionally, Google Workspace for Education Plus also has advanced security, better analytics, and enhanced learning and teaching functionalities. They will start implementing these updates on April 14th.
